Anthony
Lauren as The Big O has the look, the sound and the voice to transport
you back in time. Back to the 1950s right through to the untimely
departure of Roy Orbison who died tragically from a sudden heart attack
in December 1988. We lost one of the worlds most respected and loved
singer/songwriters on that cold winters day but his music lives on.
Anthony is one
of the first to admit that no-one could take the place of Roy and
his unmistakable unique sound. After many people had heard Anthony
perform his own show, they remarked at his resemblance in looks
and sound to Roy Orbison. He decided that by putting a show together
he was paying tribute to the man himself, the man they call The
Big O.
Anthony has been performing as Roy for several years now and has
been invited on numerous occasions to perform his show in Holland
at The Everly Brothers Fan Club. His show has been met with great
enthusiasm from his audience each time, not only from the memories
that were brought back through the timeless classics he performs,
but also because of the strong link between Roy and the Everly Brothers.
Don & Phil became good friends with Roy after they recorded
Claudette, a song that was written by Roy about his wife at the
time, who later was to die tragically in a motorbike accident.
